O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms, Apa yang kan mengganggumu Kesatria Bersenjata
Alone and palely loitering? Sendiri dan pucat iseng berdiri
The sedge has withered from the lake, Ibus mengering jauh dari danau
And no birds sing. Dan tiada burung beryanyi
O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms, Apa yang kan mengganggumu Kesatria
So haggard and so woe-begone? begitu gagah dan tenggelam dalam duka
The squirrel’s granary is full, Lubang tupai telah penuh
And the harvest’s done. dan masa panen berakhir
I see a lily on thy brow, Ku lihat lily di alismu
With anguish moist and fever-dew, dengan lembab duka dan embun samun
And on thy cheeks a fading rose dan di pipimu mawar memudar
Fast withereth too. pun mengering dengan cepat
I met a lady in the meads, Di padang ku berjumpa seorang putri
Full beautiful—a faery’s child, Terlalu cantik--anak legenda
Her hair was long, her foot was light, Rambutnya panjang, kakinya ringan
And her eyes were wild. Dan mata yang beringas
I made a garland for her head, ku buatkan mahkota untuk kepalanya
And bracelets too, and fragrant zone; dan gelang dan wewangian
She
looked at me as she did love, Dia memandang seolah betul sayang
And made sweet moan dan merenggut manis
I set her on my pacing steed, ku dudukkan dia di kudaku yang berlari
And nothing else saw all day long, dan tiada lagi yang dilihat itu hari
For sidelong would she bend, and sing dia berbaring dan bernyanyi
A faery’s song. lagu para lelembut
She found me roots of relish sweet, dia persembahkan untukku intisari rasa
And honey wild, and manna-dew, Dan madu liar dan hidangan dari surga
And sure in language strange she said— Dan dalam bahasa yang aneh dia berkata
‘I love thee true’. Ku betul-betul mencintaimu
She took me to her Elfin grot, Dia bawa aku ke istana peraduannya
And there she wept and sighed full sore, disana dia menangis dan menderita
And there I shut her wild wild eyes Dan disana ku tutup mata liarnya
With kisses four. dengan empat kecupan
And there she lullèd me asleep, Dan disana dia buat ku tertidur
And there I dreamed—Ah! woe betide!— dan ku bermimpi- Ah, Sialan!--
The latest dream I ever dreamt Mimpi terakhir yang pernah ku impikan
On the cold hill side. di lereng bukit yang dingin
I saw pale kings and princes too, ku lihat raja-raja pucat dan pangeran pun demikian
Pale warriors, death-pale were they all; Para kesatria, pucat mereka semua
They cried—‘La Belle Dame sans Merci Mereka berteriak ‘La Belle Dame sans Merci
Thee hath in thrall!’ Engkau telah tertawan
I saw their starved lips in the gloam, Ku lihat bibir kelaparan mereka di relung
With horrid warning gapèd wide, dengan sedih ternganga lebar
And I awoke and found me here, ku terbangun dan tersadar
On the cold hill’s side. di punggung bukit dingin
And this is why I sojourn here, itulah kenapa ku berkelana di sini
Alone and palely loitering, Sendiri dan pucat iseng sendiri
Though the sedge is withered from the lake, Biar ibus mengering jauh dari danau
And no birds sing. dan tiada burung bernyanyi
